May is an exciting month for us. We are never quite sure which date in the month we will declare the garden open for the season as it depends so much on the kind of spring we have. If it is a cold spring, plants tend to be later in developing and so have less flowers early on.
We like to announce the opening once there is enough choice of blooms for customers to pick. However, if you have a wedding/event, just contact us prior to May via email and we will give you some idea of what we are expecting and will be happy to let you pick before the garden is necessarily declared open.
The beginning of May tends to be full of promise but often 'not quite there yet'. There will always be some blooms but not a huge range of colours etc.
Towards the end of May there is usually a fair bit starting to come out. The less particular you are with colour theme, the more choice you will have!
Here is a list of plants we may have along with some pictures of previous May flowers on the plot.
